2024 Olalla Lavender Festival Celebrates Resounding Success with Over 1,300 Visitors

Updated: Nov 8

The new Olalla Lavender Festival, held this past weekend, has concluded with overwhelming success, drawing more than 1,300 visitors to the picturesque community of Olalla. The festival brought together local artisans, farmers, families, and lavender enthusiasts for a memorable celebration of nature’s beauty.

The festival spanned seven venues and featured a diverse array of activities, including hands-on workshops, live entertainment, and bustling vendor markets at locations such as the Olalla Community Club and Olalla Vineyard & Winery.

A major highlight of the festival was the opportunity for visitors to tour lush lavender farms: Crescent Valley Lavender Farm, Astrid’s Lavender Farm and Red Roof Ranch. These guided tours allowed guests to experience the beauty of blooming lavender fields up close and learn about the cultivation and harvesting processes from knowledgeable farmers.

"We are thrilled by the incredible turnout and the enthusiastic response from the community," said Huguette Marsicano, spokesperson for the Olalla Lavender Festival. "The positive feedback we received from attendees, farms and vendors alike has been truly heartwarming."

In addition to the farm tours, the festival offered tours at the Olalla Vineyard and Winery, live Qigong classes led by Master Yoga and Qigong teacher Dee DeMars, engaging presentations on lavender cultivation by Teri Barry from the Kitsap Master Gardeners program, lavender crafts by Dream Maker Creative, and insights into lavender history and benefits from Herbalist Desiree from the Gig Harbor Apothecary.

Visitors also had the chance to taste exclusive cider varieties from Spin Cider, adding a unique and refreshing element to the festival experience. The Farmhouse Woodworking grounds were another popular attraction, showcasing stunning wood creations that captivated guests. The picturesque setting and the Gourmet Wagon's delicious offerings made it a must-visit spot for festival-goers.

The Kid's Lavender Crafts Corner, organized by Carol Von Brandt of Olalla Bay Child Care, was a huge hit with families. It provided over 100 children with the chance to create their own lavender crafts and take home unique souvenirs.

The Olalla Lavender Festival extends its heartfelt gratitude to all attendees, participating farms, vendors, volunteers, partners and sponsors and the community for making the Olalla Lavender Festival such a resounding success.
