Protect Banner Forest Park from planned logging in the name of “forest health.” Kitsap County is proposing timber thinning despite its longstanding protected status and community-led stewardship efforts.

Why it matters:
Banner Forest has been conserved through decades of community action and a conservation easement that permanently protects its wetlands and wildlife-rich areas.
Logging threatens ecological balance, wildlife habitat, and the character of a place generations have fought to preserve.
29 miles of rustic trails meander through 635 acres.
Some Food for Thought
How truly presumptuous is it to think that Mother Nature needs us to “correct” her, when she’s existed, and thrived, for millions of years before humans ever showed up?
Nature doesn’t need our “help.” Often, our interference does far more damage than any supposed restoration. Let’s trust the forest to do what it does best—regenerate, adapt, and flourish on its own terms.
